West Mt and Quechee

The women's team has had a busy month competing and travelling! Our most recent competition was an open FIS race in West Mountain, NY. Don't worry, we didn't know where that was either until a few days before the race. Most of the women went, giving a couple of athletes their first FIS starts to develop their profiles. Ali Visconti took 1st place, which is her first FIS win! Michelle Martin and Jocelyn Werle took top honors for the J2s. Martin was 3rd and Werle 2nd. Kelly Rowland came in 17th and Jerica MacMahon took 23rd.

Yesterday we trained at Quechee Mountain. The girls trained gates and drills with the Quechee ski team j4 and j3 team. We had a great time in the sun getting to know the younger athletes. Tomorrow the girls will compete at Suicide Six in a slalom Vermont Cup.

Allison Visconti had a fast second run, coming in 5th place, placing her in 11th overall. Michelle Martin, Kelly Rowland, Kristie Ryan, Jessie McNeil were right next to one another, coming in 17th, 19th, 20th and 21st, respectively. Jocelyn Werle made her first GS race of the season coming off of an injury. She moved from bib 70 to coming in 23rd place!

Yesterday we had a great GS apex training session on Needles. Todays session is TBD due to the weather.
