As Team East learned yesterday, NH and VT are not the same state despite the fact that there are no quality radio stations in either of those places. We headed out before sunrise on a journey to Bretton Woods, NH.

Brit, Katie, and Kelly after a looooong day of skiing.
After skiing for four hours, we decided it was time to head home. But a car ride home just isn't the same without an adventure. Since the girls had missed classes for the day to go skiing in a faraway land, there was still some learning to be had. So we made it a point to stop at every historical (or as Brittney renamed them "hysterical") landmark on the way back to Vermont.

We learned about towns that no longer exist.

And homemade kilns where people once made coal.

But best of all was Bath, NH, where we learned about the founder of the town and his daughter, Mercy, who planted a garden on top of this weird rock by carrying dirt in her apron to the top of the ladder. The girls climbed the rock to check out Mercy's pumpkin garden. All-in-all, not a bad day... skiing, learning, and pumpkin gardens galore.
